9 Beach Bag Essentials to Protect Your Skin This Summer

Fun In The Sun!

It is a blast to hang out at the beach with your friends and family during the warm summer days! But don't forget that the sun can be incredibly damaging to your skin and body. Your skin is your largest organ and needs extra help to stay healthy against the harmful rays. Take steps to protect yourself and those you love by packing a few essentials in your beach bag this year:

Lather on that protection! Make sure you are using a sunscreen that is SPF 30 or greater! ...and don't forget to reapply every 2 hours. Sunscreen not only prevents significant sun damage, but it also prevents the development and extension of fine lines and wrinkles.
The sun can dry out our skin incredibly fast. Make sure to have a great moisturizer on hand to keep your face and body happy, healthy, and hydrated. Put on moisturizer after you come in from the sun and in the mornings and evenings. (Try one with SPF for added protection!)
If you want a little more coverage than just sunblock, try adding a BB cream or light foundation that adds EXTRA SPF coverage to your face and gives you an even skin tone too!
Your lips are vulnerable in the sun too! Protect your lips with a lip balm that contains SPF. Most contain SPF 15, but make sure to check. Some brands can be tricky and not include it at all. No one wants burnt lips!
Your eyes can be damaged by the sun just as easily as your skin. Protect your eyes by wearing sunglasses as much as possible when you are in direct sunlight. Go for a stylish pair that also has UVA/UVB protection in the lenses.
No one wants sunscreen in their hair! Protect your scalp by wearing a super-cute floppy hat while you are soaking up the sun. The broader the rim, the more sun protection for your face and shoulders, too!
Technology is a wonderful thing. There is now clothing you can buy that includes SPF protection in the fabric! Purchase a great long-sleeve shirt or pants to wear on the boat or in the direct sunlight for added protection.
Don't you just feel tired after a day in the sun? Refuel your body with the right foods that provide nutrients to repair the skin and hydration! Try munching on some fruits and vegetables while your relax.
Repair your entire body, skin included, by drinking plenty of water! Make sure to keep a water bottle on hand at all times while in the sun. Nothing does more good than a nice cool sip of water!
